Dr. Kelli Komro will lead a seminar at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health in Atlanta on Jan. 26. During the seminar, entitled “Prevention Trial in the Cherokee Nation: Developing Partnerships, Designing Public Health Strategies,” Dr. Komro will share her experiences related to the start-up of this newly-funded community trial.
The trial is a partnership between prevention scientists at the University of Florida and the Cherokee Nation Behavioral Health Services to create, implement and evaluate a new, integrated community-level intervention designed to prevent underage drinking and associated negative consequences among American Indian and other youth living in rural high-risk underserved communities.
