ICHP Affiliate Named an All Star in Florida Trend Magazine

ICHP affiliate faculty member Chris Gibson, Ph.D., in the department of sociology and criminology & law was listed among 30 young professionals under the age of 40 with substantial career achievements in the May issue of Florida Trend magazine. The magazine highlighted Gibson’s publishing record, citing the fact that he has been listed as the most prolific published author in criminology journals in the past decade due to his total of more than 90 scholarly works.

“It was an honor to be selected and I am proud to represent the University of Florida,” said Gibson, who was one of two UF professors listed in the publication.

The associate professor of criminology focuses his research on the role of nature and nurture in criminal behavior, and he hopes to use his findings to reduce crime. Moreover, Gibson, who is also a research foundation professor, hopes to demonstrate how academic research can help the community with an upcoming symposium featuring UF professors, local government officials and the police department.
