Applications due Aug. 4 for workgroups on child and maternal health

UF’s Department of Pediatrics, Department of Health Outcomes and Policy, Institute for Child Health Policy and Family Data Center invite applications for the creation of workgroups focused on maternal and child health, intervention studies and health outcomes in pediatric research.

Applications (1-2 pages) are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, 2014. It is expected that up to three workgroups will be selected for 2014-15 and will receive seed funding of up to $10,000 each to propose and complete pilot studies within 12 months using data from the Family Data Center or the Institute for Child Health Policy.

Eligibility and Application Requirements

The RFA encourages collaborations between the Department of Pediatrics, Institute for Child Health Policy, College of Medicine and broader UF campus.

Each workgroup must have two co-leaders – one faculty member each from the Department of Pediatrics and the Institute for Child Health Policy – and should be capable of submitting grant applications to state and national agencies within six months to one year.

Applications should be 1-2 pages, single spaced and must include the title of the proposed workgroup, strategic plan, timeline (up to 12 months) and budget justification (up to $10,000).

Selected workgroups will receive non-transferable funds that must be used within the 12-month award period. Request for faculty salary is not permitted. Earliest anticipated start date is August 2014.
