ICHP Faculty Member Receives Funding to Expand Florida Index of Child Care Access and Quality Analyses Statewide

Maldonado-MolinaThe University of Florida’s Family Data Center, led by Mildred Maldonado-Molina, Ph.D., M.S. received an increase of $199,568 from the Florida Office of Early Learning project to expand the Florida Index of Child Care Access (FLICCA) statewide. Maldonado-Molina, an associate professor in the Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics (HOBI) and a faculty member with UF’s Institute for Child Health Policy, will also integrate key findings regarding access and quality of care into the Florida Early Care and Education Needs Assessment data portal.

For the expansion, the Family Data Center will continue its partnership with the Anita Zucker Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies to deliver an efficient, secure data intake and analysis process and to integrate findings into the needs assessment data portal. Ultimately, state agencies and other stakeholders will use the Early Care and Education Needs Assessment data portal to understand and respond to the needs of children from birth to age five.
