Jennifer LeLaurin, MPH, an assistant research scientist with the UF Institute for Child Health Policy and a Ph.D. candidate at HOBI, will give an oral presentation at the 15th Annual Dissemination and Implementation in Health Conference held in Washington, DC in December.
LeLaurin will present “Implementation of electronic health record-based interventions to address social determinants of health in pediatric primary care: clinician, staff, and parent perspectives” on Dec. 12. The presentation is based on her dissertation research, which she successfully defended in October. HOBI Associate Professor Ramzi Salloum, Ph.D., served as her faculty mentor. She graduates with a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences with a concentration in Health Outcomes and Implementation Science on Dec. 16.
The conference, held in-person for the first time in two years, is co-hosted by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Academy Health to “ensure that evidence is used to inform decisions that will improve the health of individuals and communities.”
The 2022 conference theme is “(Re)Building Better Systems: Being Proactive, Nimble, and Responsive.”
“This is a wonderful opportunity to share my dissertation research and highlight how health systems can leverage the electronic health record to address social needs and ultimately improve child health outcome,” LeLaurin said.
